Phil Haacked wrote an article about how to setup CVS access for contributing to an Open Source project that is hosted at SourceForge.

I previously wrote a readme which targets beginners who are new to source control, web development, open source and SourceForge. I have to admit that this was a quick and not secure way of connecting to SourceForge. I recommend using the documentation provided by SourceForge or by Phil for professional developers.
